Privacy Policy

yuki ("we", "us") is a short-form video app for sharing pet videos. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, and you can delete your account — and everything in it — at any time, from inside the app.
What we collect
- Account information. Your email address (or the email provided by Google if you sign in with Google) and a password hash if you use email sign-up. We never see or store your plain-text password.
- Profile information. Your pet's handle, name, species, optional bio, and optional profile photo.
- Content you post. Videos, captions, hashtags, comments, likes, follows, and reports you submit.
- Basic usage data. View counts on videos and technical logs kept by our infrastructure providers for reliability and security.
We do not collect your contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers, and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
How we use it
- To operate the service: showing the feed, playing videos, delivering notifications about likes, comments, and follows.
- To keep the community safe: processing reports and enforcing our Community Guidelines.
- To communicate with you: account emails such as password resets, sent from noreply@joinyuki.com.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run yuki:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Cloudflare — video hosting and streaming (Cloudflare Stream) and website hosting.
- Resend — delivery of account emails.
- Google — only if you choose "Sign in with Google", to verify your identity.
These providers process data on our behalf to provide the service. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
What's public
yuki is a social app: your pet's profile (handle, name, species, bio, photo), your videos, captions, comments, and follower counts are visible to other users. Your email address is never public.
Data retention & deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, videos (including the video files), comments, likes, follows, and notifications. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on the backup cycle.
Children
yuki is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child is using yuki, contact us and we will remove the account.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update this page and note the new date at the top.
